As friends and family they are often helpless, and as those affected they are often unsettled and lonely. There is space to share your personal situation in two binding appointments that build on each other. Together we develop individual coping strategies. Work and career opportunities for people with disabilities in science and research

Invitation to a virtual career event: People with disabilities are still underrepresented in the scientific research landscape. We want to change that! Our goal is to design work and career opportunities in science and research so that all people – with and without disabilities – can develop their personal potential. To achieve this, we are setting out – step by step towards more inclusion in science and research. To achieve this, the Fraunhofer Society and Max Planck Society launched the “ Inclusion Initiative ,” which is supported and supported by all ten alliance organizations.
In order to make the work and career opportunities for people with disabilities in science and research visible, we cordially invite people who are interested in entry and career opportunities in science and research to our digital career event on December 4th, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In virtual lectures, participants learn more about entry opportunities and career paths in science, science management, administration and technology, as well as opportunities for stays abroad and research funding. Various interactive conversation formats enable personal exchange with managers and employees with and without disabilities from various research organizations.

iXNet workshop “Dealing with your own disabilities in the application process and in working life

We would like to warmly invite you to the first free and digital iXNet workshop “Dealing with your own disabilities in the application process and in working life” on December 5th, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

How to deal with one's own disabilities when starting a career and in everyday working life has always been a central question for many of those affected. This topic area is given even greater emphasis, especially in the current inclusion and participation discourse. Possible answers regarding the right time and place for coming out cannot be given in general terms. Rather, it is an individual, personal reflection and decision-making process that is often linked to the type and severity of the existing disability.

In the opening event of the brand new virtual iXNet workshop, we would like to engage in a joint, moderated discussion with the participants and develop possible manners and approaches within the framework of various workloads. If possible, the results of the 5-hour iXNet event should be processed afterwards and embedded in the existing website of the inclusive expert network.

The registration deadline is November 26th, 2023.
